State Champs

The QERQ State Championship event is significant to the endurance calendar providing our members the opportunity to present their horses to complete and compete in a Championship event, or to step up, taking themselves and their horses to the next level of endurance  - completing a 160 km ride that allows them to be ready to go to a Tom Quilty Gold Cup event.

If you are not yet ready to do a 160 km ride, come along to our event, participate in the 40 km or 80 km rides on Saturday, and stay around to help out at the State Championship event on Sunday.  You will see the best of the best, those competitive riders and their fittest of horses, tackle the hills and roads of Imbil Forest to complete a 160 km ride.

Make sure your membership and horse registrations are up to date. If you need to update logbooks to endurance status, please give our registrar time to get these back to you.

The Biosecurity Plan for this event requires that all horses brought to the facility must present with a printed and completed 10-day temperature log. If there is no one in attendance at the entry gate to the venue, and to minimise traffic congestion on the road, vehicles may enter past the gazebo at the entry gate but no further than the Stop and Wait sign that is approximately 200 meters into the venue.  All paperwork must be checked before you proceed to camping.  To get our attention call Camp Boss Jen on 0400 122 409 or Ride Secretary Kim on 0476 166 903.

PIC Number for the venue is QWGW0131.  You must provide the PIC Number for property the horse has come from.

Ride base entry.
Thursday 1 July  - 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
Friday 2 July – 8.00 to 8.00 pm
Saturday 3 July – 8.00 am to 3.00 pm
Please adhere to these hours so that our volunteers can have some down time too.
Note that all horses competing in the 160 km event must be vetted through by 5.00 pm.

Camping
Stirling’s Crossing Equestrian Complex provides great camping for rider and horse, with water access to each camp site.  Please note that we do not offer powered sites but that should not deter you.

There is a camping fee for non-riding attendees unless you are volunteering.  The ride entry fee covers camping for one rider – others are asked to pay $10 for two nights or $20 for more than 2 nights.

No rubbish is be left at campsites.  Skip bins are available but please minimise your rubbish,  We hope to have trailers on site for collection of horse manure.  Horse manure cannot be placed in skip bins.

General event safety
This is a horse event and children need to be supervised by a responsible adult.
Dogs must be secured. Dog faeces must be collected and put in rubbish containers – do not mix with horse manure.
Campfires are allowed but must be contained and off the ground, and  be attended at all times.

The course
The tracks will take you through the Imbil Forestry. Remember this is a working forestry and you must ride according to road rules – that means stay on the left side of the road and be respectful of other users.  More details will be provided on the tracks before the event, but our tracks are designed to give your horse a good workout and you a genuine endurance experience.

Manned checkpoints will be strategically located around the course. Checkpoints are in two-way radio contact with headquarters at the ride base. You are required to ensure checkpoint personnel acknowledge your number when you pass through the checkpoint. Please note that in an emergency situation, checkpoint personnel will assume control of the ride course.

Please note that nominations will close at 8.00 pm on Tuesday 29 June 2021.
Any cancellations after this time will incur an administrative fee of 10% of the nomination fee.
